Franklin F. Walters had the house constructed in 1907. He was the minister of Central Christian Church. He sold the property in 1910 to Austin Finley who was a professor at Drury College. The house was owned by three Drury College professors until 1923. The house was used for rental property until 1937 when it was purchased by William DeLange. He was a bookkeeper for a local printing company. Sidney Williams, owner of Williams Furniture on Commercial Street, purchased the house in 1944. Joseph Harppine purchased the house in 1986.
