Vienna statue Hofburg Palace
A highlight of a visit to Vienna, the capitol of Austria is a a tour of the Hofburg Palace, once the head of the Hapsburg government. Its museums contain many items from that period in history such as historic crowns (below).
Vienna is a bustling city. The old town section of the city provides many indications of the old Vienna, such as St. Stephans church, along with opportunities for modern shopping.

Schonbrunn Palace

The Palace of Schonbrunn (right) has magnificently preserved state rooms and exquisite gardens. It was the summer residence of the Hapsburg monarchs. It is located on outskirts of the city. The Hofburg Palace is in the downtown area.
